The evolution of her clinical skills is buttressed by a strong foundation: a lifetime of experience plus her own persistent work on herself. She offers a spiritually grounded, pragmatic, skillful approach to growth and transformation, one that supports clients in cultivating peace, self-acceptance, and a renewed sense of direction. A new trajectory in life, rooted in meaning and wholeness.
My vocation found me early. In sixth grade, people were already coming to me to confide, to talk through what they might do. Instead of going straight into practice, I took a detour as a high school Spanish teacher. But I came back to my calling, and I've had a private practice for over 40 years.
I bring a broad perspective to my clients because my career has never been narrow. I spent a decade as a Consulting Psychologist at the UC Berkeley Counseling Center, doing career counseling, brief therapy, and crisis intervention. I supervised the clinical work of Ph.D. psychology students at the Wright Institute, taught courses in the School of Education, and was an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
For fifteen years, as part of a team, I consulted to corporations, helping leadership teams create cultures that were both humane and productive. We helped leaders understand the importance of relationships, group dynamics, authority, power, and tasks. I used those experiences when I was a group leader in a summer Executive Development Program at Stanford.
On the personal side, I bring lived experience of healing from a narcissistic mother and surviving a difficult divorce and custody fight. These experiences are not separate from my clinical work, they are part of what makes me trustworthy.
It was truly transformative. I really enjoyed connecting with you and having you on my team.
